Cosmos I

Cosmos I

from the series Recent Work, 2025, Limited Edition

ABOUT

A photo collage comprised of multiple photos and graphics. The primary image is of a Cosmos flower. Cosmos derives from the Greek word for ‘ordered world’ due to the neat, orderly arrangement of the petals. There are also other images including a Starflower, ATCG letters referencing DNA, and a hexagonal graphic pattern.

The image is part of the series Anthropocene about nature as it is today. The DNA lettering and hexagons allude to human impacts that are changing plant behavior.

The strong singular image of the flower is an attempt to illustrate the beauty of nature while the integration of scientific graphics alludes to nature under stress.
