From a new work-in-progress series pairing wildlife with related equations. This image connects the northern bobwhite with an equation mapping its local extinction i.e. the Levins metapopulation model illustrating a species collapse driven by modern reforestation and development.

The image is part of a new series called A/12v (Anthropocene / 12 Views) exploring contemporary perceptions of ecosystems during the Anthropocene.
