The image is part of an ongoing project exploring the Anthropocene illustrating nature and human impact on a micro level. The grid structure references how the environment is often viewed in scientific and industrial terms as well as how it has changed due to human impact e.g. there are about 350,000 artificial chemicals in the environment, many of which are in the atmosphere.
